The Sweetest Gift

Amazon.com
Trisha Yearwood’s resonant voice is sweet, sultry, vulnerable, and ideally suited for the reverential standards, pop faves, and honky-tonkers that adorn this holiday collection. The Sweetest Gift’s moderate arrangements complement Yearwood’s covers of “There’s a New Kid in Town,” Leiber and Stoller’s “Santa Claus Is Back in Town,” Hank Snow’s “Reindeer Boogie,” and “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” The CD demonstrates why Yearwood is one of Nashville’s superior talents. –Martin Keller

The coolest chick YULEtidings to date within that YULEtide Treasure Chest. What a compellable concoxtion Trisha has crafted here. For those in the Know that`s all that needs to be said.– For those denial diciples of reseasonable seasonal soundings, go with the flow, and make this a sonic flyer for this up and comming Christmas. In fact be sure to look for the commercial copies with the outer liner of snownflakes and portrait while you`re Hot at it. As for I, the artist has stamped her certified favorite arrangement seal to many a seldom sung seasonal song, while paying reverence to the seasonal standards chosen for inclusion.~~Merrily Mix~ 1$12,2$,3$,4#12,5%,6#12,7%,8%,9#12, and 10#12~~Post Script: Yeah all you merchandizers of mirth,I realize the air of incompleteness can sometimes be balanced by a recipe of various lyrical themes, vocal stylizing, and widely inclusive instrumentation and genre reresentation, but it`s rarely achieved.Rest assured listener this is an aspiring exception and we can hope that this angelic artist`s early Scrooge`nish is rewarded with an even more ambitious awebwoodonza’ release at some future date. Thanks to all involved, great job.***buyit*saveit*shareit*giveit*donateit to the local library***

Sweet voice of Trisha Yearwood. “It Wasn’t His Child” really is a fabulous cut. The CD is worth it for that song alone but there are other good tracks.

I chose this CD while hunting a version of “It Wasn’t His Child,” a new song for me that I recently heard a young man sing. It’s my first intro. to Trisha Yearwood. I will look for more.
